    Price of Promethean boards

What’s the going rate for having a 78” Promethean ACTIV 2 board with projector and sound fitted?

I’ve been quoted £3270 per board which I thought was rather excessive.

Advantage Technologies Advantage Technologies speak to Dave Eldridge or Graham Middleton but then I use them for all my AV and cabling and they are based 10 miles down the road from me.

They do work all over the country though.

Did you get a discount due to the amount of boards you had installed or is that the normal going rate for a board ?

We pay around £2200 per board fully installed from SMARTvisual Ltd - Projectors, Interactive Whiteboards, Computers and Notebooks they don't do the electrics however, you have to make sure plug sockets are in the right places.

They're not the absolute best, as we've had to have engineers back to re-do some sloppy workmanship that we only noticed when a couple of the boards were taken down recently to paint; the wiring behind them was aweful. OK it's out of sight, but when you take the board down and this birds nest of wiring falls out from behind it, you do have to wonder.

Saying that, a majority of their installations are very good, virtually all of them in this school have been done by them, and the panel that they terminate to is good, as it has a proper USB socket on it for the board. Most installations I've seen have terminations for the VGA and sound+video but the boards USB connection is usually a trailing cable coming straight from the board.

We use GV Multimedia and they're about £2,000 depending on specification of projector. We've previously had similar prices from Promethean themselves.

It does depend on which version you want.

Promethean do a fixed version and a height adjustable version.

I am happy to provide a quote/references if you PM me.

We can do electrics etc too.

That price was not including the elctrics which we had a local firm come in behind the board installers to fit a couple of doubles on the wall for the computer etc.. and ceiling mounted single for the projector.

Advnatage installers are excellent and I have no complaints about the quality of their work.

This was for Wall mounted ProActiv 78 boards and Hitachi EDX-30 projectors.

I see Promethean now do a 95" board.

Thats not a bad price Ben, but Jobos asked about Activ Board 2 which is more expensive.

We are certainly able to install a 78" Activ Board, Projector & Speakers for around £2100 and we can supply electrics etc
