Default 8GB microSD in 4GB camera

I have just purchased but not received an 8GB micro SD Flash Memory card
£17 from amazon
Amazon.co.uk: SanDisk - Flash memory card 8 GB - Class 4 - microSDHC with MobileMate Micro Reader: Electronics & Photo

(at the weekend pissy world wanted £89 for the same item, and then incorrectly proceeded to tell me that amazon didn't count in their 'price match promise')

I now realise that I may have mad a mistake because my camera only supports max 4GB sd and my aging Nokia only supports 2GB.

So the question is...
will the camera/telephone be able to use the 4GB and 2GB respectively? if I partition the disk will be recognised?
any advice appreciated

If your devices don't say they support SD HC (the HC - High Capacity is the important bit, as the hardware on the cards is different) then they most likely won't see them at all.

What camera is it? Some cameras will support a maximum size on the SD standard but will support 4GB or more for cards that are SHDC-compliant.

Thanks chaps,
I hadn't realised the significance of SDHC which the camera does support.

Also my mistake was mixing up a 4GB limit on movie filesize (.. a FAT partition filesize limit) with the maximum storage capacity size.
