Keyboard Error
I have a PC which when you boot up it says 'Keyboard error or No Keyboard attached'. I have tried new keyboards, both PS2 and USB but to no avail.
Does this mean that the PS2 port is knackered and therefore a new motherboard.
I even tried a BIOS reset in the hope that it would kick start it back to life.
Could some confirm this for me please or even suggest another solution.
Also don't you find it annoying that someone has put under this message 'Press F1 to continue'. Thats almost worth putting in the FFS!! forum.

I take it you have tried a USB keyboard? If not would try that proberly the cheaper option that buying a new motherboard.

James

Not "confirm", but if I'd checked that far I'd feel quite justified in saying "dead motherboard, chuck it and get a new one".

I think it's BIOS programmers having a laugh. Embedded programmers have to get their amusements where they can :-)

I suspect it should say "connect keyboard and then press F1 to continue" but when this bit of the BIOS was first written, every byte was precious so you put short (and *&^%!£$ annoying!) messages instead :-)
