[Website] Instructions on dismantling, upgrading & modding 100's of laptop types
Just found a site that I think may be helpful to some of the members of the forum. It has collected together lots of information about dismantling, upgrading, fixing and altering laptops from all over the internet.
Repair4Laptop: Laptop & Notebook Repairing, Upgrading and Modding Guides: by Manufacturers
It covers all sorts of interesting technical achivements from upgrading a laptop to include an extra rj45 lan adapter to reducing the noise that it makes.

We had to replace a hard drive on an Apple laptop a while ago, and I found this site very, very good! ( It does the ipods as well).

16th June 2008, 11:05 PM #3 unfortunately not one for my alienware m7770 .. power socket burnt out on the mobo and fried. Was daft and only took out a 1 yr warranty (big lesson learnt! for a £2k laptop
!)
Bought a new mobo and tried to put it back together. ruined the connectors for the sound module in the process.. couldnt get it going again.
I think ill go back to it in the summer, ended up just buying a new laptop as didnt have the time to have no laptop
