    Thanks chaps,

Thought it might be a bit easier for swapping out backups and save having to log on before removing it, but looks like I'll be sticking with plan A which is the Stardom U6 jobbie that really is yank-it-out and chuck another in...

Have you got a link to the pro version so I can see what it offers and also how much it costs and possibly where to get it from.

    Thanks

I was looking at building my own with an enclosure....but what's the point?!!!

Are there any of these docks about that draw power from USB? My current iomega external HDD has a double USB lead that uses one for power and one for transferring data. Just saves on having to carry around a powerpack (and finding a spare socket!).

    Cheers

AHAAHA! You can buy 2.5 inch adapters that either use 2 x usb cables or a usb and a ps2 connector! I have one, and it works> :0

I have one of these bought from SCAN and it's great, although I haven't figured out eSATA.

I meant so that you could plug two SATA disks in at once!

...I knew I'd seen one when I had a shufti:

    Here you go!

Now, if there was something like that that handled IDE as well...

(I know there are those corded things - I use one quite a lot - but those docks are so much neater).

Now....I have more IDE drives laying around than I do SATA....Is there an easy way of converting IDE to SATA so that they can be used in this dock?
