Is the tape drive an internal or external drive? If its an external drive, I find it useful to shut down the server and the tape drive give it a minute then power on the tape drive, wait 30 seconds then power on the server after that.

    Hello,

Quick update. Rebooted Sims server. Server went through the motions. Tape drive did a power cycle and all looked good. Only the one light was on (tape motion) - which is good!! Fingers crossed it will do a backup tonight and that it doesn't remember that it is actually broken. My pulse rate doubled lol.
