Is it me or does it look like the screen and keyboard are on the wrong sides?

I presume that's because all the guts are behind the screen so that it can function in tablet mode, possibly without the keyboard?

At least it's got a wired connection as well as wireless.

Have you noticed how big it looks compared to the people using it in the pictures? Given that we know its tiny dimensions, those must be some small folk!

I agree that creating a "laptop" for under £100 is great on the (schools!) wallets when you consider the "1 laptop to 1 child" we are being encourage to aim for (haha!)

However, not with that spec; you can tell where the low price comes from!
The EEE Pc from Asus is better, I think.

    It looks nicer too

Keyboard doesn't look that bad, screen is too small...look at the amount of unused space!!!!

Plus the top heavyness means it needs a little pull-out support to keep the screen upright so it's almost certainly not suitable for use on the lap.....the support has been sneakily airbrushed out on the elonex website...

    The rotters.

The navigation stick and buttons on the rear make the removable keyboard slightly less pointless too.

Of course the the random processor (LNX Code 8) has little information immediately available on the web so its performance is unknown.

No notebook is suitable for use on a lap as far as I'm aware. Ever manual I have read for a notebook over the last few years has stated that they must be used on a solid, flat surface...

ofcourse it can be dangerous to use a laptop on the lap for several hours, particularly the ultraportables where the underside can get very hot.....not good for the sperm count.

But i use the eee almost almost always with it perched on my lap, it causes me absolutely no discomfort. The Macbook pro 17inch i can use on my lap with very little discomfort from the heat.

It may be a H&S guideline but it's not black and white imo.
