Default Programming an old cash register

I managed to have got myself roped into programming an old cash register it's a Casio TE-100 . I have managed to change all the prices if need be according to the item buttons but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the descriptions. I can get into a mode where I enter characters but I see no way to tie this to a particular button.

Any ideas?

tia

Chris

ps I have the instruction manual and its very very very poor.

Manual :

http://www.casio.co.uk/pdf/cashreg/TE100_E020214B.pdf

not sure if that helps, when you say program, how are you programming it, have you got a serial connection to the register or you mean program it as in physically sitting in front of you is the cash register and you have to do certain things to the register to make it alter the descriptions / labels etc?

Just in case you are wondering where I got that from :

http://www.casio.co.uk/Products/Cash...al%20Download/

which was from a google search Geoff to the resuce lol ( Just kidding geoff !! )

Is the above manual the same as the one you have ?

Quick browse thru the manual setting up that thing looks like a bleeding nightmare.....like programming the VCR from hell..........

except i'm guessing it's too heavy to chuck at the wall in frustration
