Head of Dept. wants a combined colour laser printer/scanner.
Don't remember seeing such a device....anyone?

Might be a bit big, but Epson do the CX11.

I've been looking at exactly the same thing just recently. For a smaller device, you want an "all in one". Colour laser all-in-one's like the HP CM1015 seem to start at around £150, although I'm not sure how much toners are. Inkjet versions are also available (from around £50), although again the running costs will be high. If you can afford a larger up-front payment, get a decent model (around £600), it'll cost less in the long run on toner replacements. Searching Google for "laser all in one" will get you a good set of results to start looking at.Head of Dept. wants a combined colour laser printer/scanner.
For a larger machine, get a photocopier as Andy suggested. There is no difference between a network-capable "photocopier" and "printer" these days.

Thanks.
The HP CM1015 is just what I was looking for![]()

Man i hate the all-in-one/combo things.. so many things that can and often go wrong.
Photocopiers are great when they are under contract as its not your problem when they go wrong.

By chance, Misco have the HP COLOUR LASERJET 2840 MFP in their offers today - £540.49 inc VAT but with £200 cash back from HP - details at http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...asp?Sku=101703

I hate these all in one things. Staff in our school have a small obsession with them, often it's just lazyness on the part of the member of staff not wanting to goto reprographics for copying. We spend a fortune on toner for the ones of these that have managed to find their way into school, waaaay more than a proper colour copier costs to run.
The only good thing about these devices is normally the scanner funtionality is networkable, meaning several people can share the one unit in an office for scanning purposes, however to take advantage of this, each machine must make its own connection to the device, you can't share it via a print server.
Mike.

The 2840 all in one is £439 from dabs4work then you can claim the £200 cash back from HP.
3N7GWS is the quicklink.

You've been done a bad deal on your copier. I haven't had a quote in 2 years where the mono machine is cheaper to get either on rental or purchase than the equivalent colour machine (assuming your matching the black spec and just getting the colour as its included as it were and not fussing over it). The running costs from the last 3 firms I got prices from were identical for the mono on a mono only and a colour machine.
Yes but i would not recomend it laser is old hat now and very expencive to run and feed with toner for better quality and speed i would recomend the Epson Workforce pro 4525
