Having a load of X130e here, I would certainly choose the X140e. They're tough, great battery life, good value, and plenty quick enough if you stick SSDs in them instead of the HDD.

They're fine. I just wouldn't spec anything now without an SSD - I find any HDD too slow, let alone a 5400rpm one.

Keep an eye out on eBay or on here for trolleys. Two went unsold with a 50 quid starting price on eBay yesterday and when I got rid of ours a couple of years ago I managed to get £70 from a local school for one and a parent with a van took the other one for scrap and gave the proceeds to the PTA. I'd been trying to find a good home for it for a year by then.

I'm looking to replace my old Samsung netbooks so I'm looking for a small form factor with long battery life (as always!)

Don't actually want xxx x 600 so miniumm spec is 768 vertical screen resolution

One supplier has recommened Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E145 at £345

    Anyone got any?

    Hi @SimpleSi,

Thanks for posting. We do an aluminium backed HD 1366*768 11.6" Netbook with touch or non-touch screen that you can spec with RAM, SSD, Wi-Fi and O/S or a larger Intel Bay-trail M (Dual or Quad core) 15.6" Widescreen 1366*768 Netbook with a brilliant 9.5hr battery life that can also be self specced to requirement as well as the 10.1" ruggedised Intel Classmate Netbook available on our website; all are very reasonably priced and suitable for school use. If you fancy some proposals sending across please feel free to get in touch at colin@very-pc.co.uk and I'll be delighted to help you choose.

    Best,
    Col
