Auto Play
Hi
Any idea why a standalone laptop (Dell 505) should stop auto-playing CDs, DVDs etc all of a sudden. Even the 'What do you want Windows to do? box no longer appears?? All works fine if you right click and choose 'Play'. Associations are still there audio/WMP, DVD/PowerDVD. Odd.

If you navigate to the following: Right click the optical drive > Properties > Autoplay Tab.
Then select the settings you would like and it "should" work.

You might also want to check
gpedit.msc > User configuration > Administrative Templates > System >Turn Off Autoplay (set to "Disable")
also
regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > Current Control Set > Services > CDrom > Autorun (set to "1" )
