    The hell is going on?!

One of our printers is being a butt. It'll stop printing properly, the demo page varying degrees of bad, but it isn't consistent.

In a multiple page document, one page will be fine but the next one will be squashed.

    Colour [demo] page:

    HP0001.jpg

    Text only [page 1]:

HP0002.jpg This is supposed to look similar to page 2.

    Text only [page 2]:

    HP0003.jpg

These were all done from the printer menu itself, so it isn't a case of a dodgy cable [as I've seen suggested other places]

I've tried recalibrating but it doesn't help.

    paper pick up/clutching system slipping.
the iffy colour output can be a sign of a faulty/worn photoconductor on the colour toner

I would have thought that would make the output shift down the page, instead of compressing it into the middle. [it's ALWAYS the middle...]

Those are always great fun. I've got one with some sticky label stuck to a paper roller at the moment - not sure exactly how I'm going to get the thing apart to remove it...
