    What is this?

This is highly embarassing for me, but can somebody confirm what exactly is this little slot on the corner?

I ask as I've recently bought 4x Kensington Security Cables from @CPLTD but they do not appear to fit, but this looks exactly like a security slot so I'm a bit stumped!

    Thanks,

    n00b.

Certainly looks like a security slot, what does the manual say?

That must be Kensington Lock slot, I can't see what else it can be!

Turns out it is indeed one, however I bought the wrong cable it's the ClickSafe one I need. Thanks to Chris at @CPLTD for the uber fast response of confirming the product I actually need.

Time for a cup of tea....

It doesn't have a K logo on it... It's almost certainly a security slot, but if whoever made the laptop hasn't paid to use the K slot design and logo then it might not be K compliant. Who is the laptop manufacturer?

Just had a look at the Presario CQ56 I have sat next to me and it has the slot with a padlock with a K in it. I assume that is Kensingtons mark. Im curious to know who the manufacturer is!

It's a Lenovo T440. The docking station (also Lenovo) has no logo either..
