I have been given a grant to spend on 'Student Resources' IT wise. Its around 4000.

Now i will need to buy some laptops to replace some ageing ones used for SEN and exams. But any other interesting ideas before i get told to spend it all on iPads

It has to be things the students would use though so i can't really buy a new server or something like that.

Sorry but - what a stupid way to run a school budget. Is the whole management/governance structure completely devoid of strategy or direction?

Apology accepted. It is a grant we have Been awarded rather than out of our schools central budget which is allocated according to our aims. We do have a strategy which is very well established. Hence the reason for investing part of it into renewing laptops available to our SEN department.

The point of the question was for advice and sharing from colleagues who work in ICT to ensure we consider the best most effective way to spend the grant. I believe it would be very poor of me to just say off hand we'll spend it all on laptops without adequate research.

Thank you for all the helpful advice from others.
