Rep Power: 10 | Just got myself a new DLT-V4 drive for backup and a Adaptec 1221SA to run it off and they don't like each other Tried it with a cheapo £5.99 SATA card and it works. Read a few reviews and it did say that its very particular about what SATA to use but the nice people at Freecom have included a SATA to USB convertor. Should I stay with the SATA to USB2 convertor or should I look at getting a different SATA card. Have to wait till 5 to reboot my server as I don't fancy how swapping PCI cards |

Rep Power: 10 | Although I moan all the time this is why I love IT, sort of. Adaptec Sata drive didn't work so I tried it with my Sata card in my desktop and it worked. Quantum gave me a USB to Sata convertor in the box so I tried that first. Rebooted server at 5 last night and started a backup and went home. At 9 I wanted to see how fast it had backed up so I tried to log in remotely and couldn't. Oh dear. Got to work this morning and it had crashed my server, completely frozen about 5 minutes after I went home. Now I have put the Ali SATA card and started again, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease work as I really need a backup. |
