Best iPad Compatible Wireless Printer ??

    Hi Guys,

Just looking for a bit of help/advice here

A member of staff has asked if I can help him out with choosing the best iPad compatible wireless printer, and I have had a look on my break and come across a few but there seems to be no clear winner in the terms of customer reviews
At home I use my standard wireless printer and if anything needs printing off my iPad I either email it to my PC or if I need it quickly I have downloaded the AirprintHactivator so I have never needed to look in this part of the market before

    • The printer needs to be quite compact
    • It may not get used often so not a printer that has a history of ink drying out quickly
    • Cheap inks
    • Budget is anywhere up to about £70 for the printer itself

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I have a cheapy Epson xp405 at home - does the job but I rarely use it. Over a year old and used half a dozen times bit inks ok so far. Probably not cheapest to run but fine for me.

In one of our schools we have some hp 8600e all in ones. Work fine although again not the greatest running costs on the work. And more than your budget.

Finally, check out what was known as fingerprint and other such software. Runs on a computer and turns your printer into an AirPrint printer

    Hi @speckytecky,

It's not actually an App as such its more of a workaround for lazy people like me who haven't looked in to buying a suitable printer !
In the past the only down side was that to get my iPad to print I had to make sure the PC was on to enable this to work but this is a more up to date page I found about it and there is no mention of that this time.

AirPrint Activator for Windows - iOS 7 For Windows XP/7/8

I will probably continue to use this method until I find the best option for myself and also colleague at work

    @XiJ thanks for your reply,

Myself personally I use the method of turning my printer into an Airprinter using a downloaded work around, I used Airprint Activator (hadn't heard of fingerprint)

However the thread was originally for a member of staff at my place of work who would like it for casual use, Ive found him a couple of options and passed them on to him but if what he chooses works out good I'll be buying one as well
