I have a member of staff who is using an ASUS laptop and in recent times the laptop has been difficult to power/boot up.
Today its decided not to play ball at all. Power light is on, Battery light is on, but nothing else !!!
I've tried the removing the battery for 20 / 45 seconds, holding the power button down while removing the battery etc etc solutions found by my friend google to no avail.
Does anyone know why ASUS laptops seem to have this "design feature" and how it can be disabled, its really annoying. l

sites suggest things like reseating the RAM in the device if your getting lights on with the battery unplugged.
Though a bit further reading suggest a possible dead mobo
