I know this has been asked before (in fact, I think I asked it!) but it was some months ago and things move on apace in this game.
This is a first school without much money and we need a new projector that is robust and will last - without being too pricy in the first place.
Currently we have Sanyos which get dusty really quickly and stop working at the drop of a hat.
Any ideas anyone? I never really know where to go for this sort of information and I always worry that I am going to get the wrong thing!
ops:
Thanks

I personally like the NEC line, mount them to the celing and that is usualy the last I hear of them untill the bulb blows a few years down the line.

I've always rated Epson projectors very highly followed by NECs.

Re: Which Projector?
We use the NEC's too. We had a lots of rebuilt classroms two and a half years ago which results in 12 NEC's projectors being ceiling mounted. We still haven't had to replace a lamp yet, and at the time all the projectors came with a spare delivered lamp! :P

I like Epson projectors, mainly because they just work and secondly because they 'beep' at you when you turn them on, so the staff arn't left guessing if the remote's working. It's the simple things that just make them useable.
Companies I wouldn't recommend include sahara, newer infocus stuff (their old stuff was good thou) and sanyo (although we do have a lot of these at our school, but looking backI wouldn't buy them again.)

Epsons for me as well, if you look round u will find them with free bulbs and 3 year lamp warranty for around £300

Yep, we have quite a lot of NEC's and more recently Epsons due to our local supplier and fitter of whiteboards/projectors recommending them. Not had a problem with most of them. The few we have had issue with have been swapped out promptly by NEC/Epson.
Just don't get a Sahara projector!

OK - So it is an Epson!
BUT: where is the best place to get it?
We have only ever got ours from the same place as the whiteboards
