    HP Proliant P800 Battery

    I need some help.

I have a HP DL380 G5 Storage Server which is telling me that the Smart Array P800 Controller has one or more array accelerator batteries that are failed.

I need to replace this battery as the the performance of the server has gone right down since the failure.

I have tried google but all I can find is the price of the Controller. I just need to replace the battery.

Also does anyone know if replacing the battery with a new one will do anything to the config I have on the controller?

AFAIK I have never had a battery change the config, it just stops some of its advanced features working IE the ones that rely on it having the battery.

I believe this is the PN - 398648-001 taken from the manual for the controller - http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/.../c00806102.pdf

I have my battery now - The diagnostics tell me it is the card in slot 4. The cards are in a Riser. Does anyone know how I tell which is slot 4 on the riser?
