It's one more thing to get lost/stolen, but another option might be a cheap adapter, though the product description on this one seems incorrect.
Can anyone recommend me any dirt cheap USB headphones?
Because we make the PCs themselves entirely inaccessible to students, we instead run audio and usb extensions from them but we've realised we may be able to cut down on the 3 cables (2 audio, 1 usb) to just the one if we could find some USB headphones that were cheap enough.
We use Logitech ones but they run at about £16 a pair.
I'd probably look at something like the V7 HU511. They should be cheaper than the Logitech branded headset.
Drop me a line if you'd like me to look at how much we can supply them for.

I'm not sure if this is any help but one of the schools I work at is looking at buying about 30 of these for the ictsuite as pretty much all the audio jack ports have been destroyed and this is a less time consuming and cheaper way to fix them.

We have tested one over the past month and works well, that seller also offers a 1 year warranty (if they honour it or not is another question)
