We have a few BIJ 2800 A3 printers. One in particular seems to me to be killing the chip on the magenta cartridges straight away. I am going to swop what I consider a healthy cartridge out of another printer to test this. I am trying to figure out whether it is the cartridges or the printer.
Has anyone ever come across any problems like this?
We are using compatible cartridges but this is the first time I have had a problem in nearly 4 years.

Some ink mixes are electrically conductive (especially with 'compatible' cartridges as the mixes are cheaper to produce). Thus if you have a lot of stray ink around inside the catridge slot it's possible to short out the connections. Make sure the area around them is clean, especially if you've had a spillage.

There are no hints of ink at all near the contacts. So far the half full cartridge I put in from another machine is still working for now............
