HELP!!!! HP PROLIANT ML110 G4 SERVER not restarting appears to be stuck in standy

    Urgent help please

following a cmis update the server went through it's normal restart but it appears to have gotten stuck in standby and only the yellow power light is lit, below the power button. Pushing the power button does nothing...

Need this working urgently as it's the DC

No single PSU, power leads and connectors where swapped for ones from a working server and still the same, the fans spool up and stop and a single green led flashes on the mother board near to the jumpers, the only thing I haven't tried yet is an RTC reset which used to work on a host of old HP and Dell servers. Have just looked online and found several similar issues with those servers so I'm hoping it's fixable

Don't suppose you've updated the BIOS recently - I know some older ML110s could do funny things after BIOS updates.

    Also:
    ...as it's the DC

You did do the unplug and hold the power button in thing didnt you?
Only my DC - yes, THE DC - did exactly the same as yours last week after a power cut took it out and I restarted it. I panicked hugely until I did the above and got it into safe mode from where I could shut it down properly and start again.
    Worth a go, anyway

Right quick update, the DC server had fried the power switch at some point during the restart and locked it into standby mode, doing an RTC reset didn't clear it and fitting a redundant switch didn't fix it either so decided to go the whole hog and swap all the working components into an old server, 3hrs later we have a nearly fully functional network and a frankenstein monster of a server but its working Link2ICT are being their usual helpful selves with regards to sorting out an issue with CMIS and Eportal not syncing the class data and displaying registers... other than that we are good at that moment, quite chuffed that I've built and replaced two servers in under 4hrs from scrap parts :-)

Well done! Not sure I would have the guts to attempt that!
