    Classboard Issue

Hi We have a wierd issue with 3 classboards, we have even swapped out 1 of them today and 10 minutes later gets the same issue.

Basically when drawing 1 straight line, it draws a load of extra lines randomly. Re-calibrated, reloaded, etc, etc, but is now on 3 different ones, not sure what the issue is, we are now thinking interference, but not sure. Has anyone got any clues?

    Please see attached picture.

The red circled line is the one we have drawn and the yellow ones it creates itself......

    ARRGGHHH!

I was going to attache a piccie, but ythe GD Library is not working. So here is a link.

    Re: Touchboard Issue

Signal interference between the board and the PC (eg, electrical cable next to the usb cable).

If you rule out signal interference then good chance electronics on board is screwed.

We had this with Promethean board engineer came out replaced electronics at the back and all was fine it quite a common issue for interactive boards.

    Issue is called spiking..

    Re: Classboard Issue

We had a similar issue with some of our smartboards at my previous place. Turned out that the USB cable was too long. The fitters used something like 3m cables in the trunking on the walls but left us with the 4m cables that came with the boards. Without thinking, we told the teachers to plug these cables into the wallplates and of course the maximum length a USB cable can be is five metres....

Have you tried a shorter USB cable and/or active USB extender?

    Re: Classboard Issue

Ok its sorted, turns out that it is an issue with the Windows Tablet edition WSD file or something like that (is part of windows XP), We have a VB script that basically disabled this and now it works ok.
