    Museum Piece

Oh my god! Someone's just handed me an old laptop: An RM NB400! Just laoded it up & it's a 486 CPU (running on its FAST setting!) with 4Mb RAM. OS is Windows 3.1 and it's got Word 2, Excel 2 & Word 6 along with Taipai for Windows 3.0!!!

The best part is, it's got a CRT output, plus Keyboard & Mouse outputs on PS/2 so I managed to get it hooked up to my 17" monitor. That's the first time I've ever seen Win3.1 on that size of screen. (And it actually looks pretty good too!)

I'm sure I heard that there is a floppy disk version of XP lol

I know there are floppy setup boot disk's for xp - not got link handy, but if u have a LPT style external CD-ROM drive....

I can see a 486 from here actually - collecting dust in the back. It may have even 8MB in it and win3.11. I remember having fun trying to get the OLD 486 pc's to connect the the NT4 server when we got it lol (the old netware 3.x fileserver was bad enough - no usernames, just one mapped drive and that was that lol)

    Cheers,
    Nath
