I have a cracked iPad here, any ideas what to do with it? Applestore or 3rd party repair?
I was just going to throw it away but its a 32GB ipad 3 so worth a fair bit I think.
EDIT: heres a pic

it depends on what is actually bust. is it just the outside glass or the glass and lcd or just the lcd? A new LCD will cost £60 and a front glass digitizer is about £26 assuming you want to attempt to repair it yourself.
Try forum sponsor Millgate, they quoted me for a screen repair..unfortunatley we ran out of money to do it, maybe after April.
Is there not an app for that![]()

@Millgate do iPad repairs I bllieve? Maybe PM for a quote?

You could fix it yourself if you are brave. Repair kits will be under 30 quid from ebay.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BELIEVE ANY YOUTUBE WALKTHROUGH VIDEO where the old cracked or smashed screen easily lifts up in one piece. Even with satanic heat levels and patience of a god, I had my iPad screen in a billion pieces. A billion pieces which are now permanently embedded in my fingers.
Yes, this week I have replaced my last iPad screen.

Ouch, that'll teach you for not wearing your Apple gloves (like radiation gloves only thicker). Did something similar with a cd once, it got jammed, I pulled it upwards and it shattered and ended up in my hand. That CD drive never worked again, they are right, blood is thicker than water and waaay harder to get out of electronics.
Most probably worth fixing if it has not bent the back aluminium panel which is quite pricey. Lots of people on eBay offering a service from about £50 or lots of websites like this one: iPad Repair
Got one fixed with this company before.
As has been mentioned @Millgate do this![]()
There is nothing I like more than fixing things, and I've had countless hours experience with hardware repairs...fixing an ipad screen was one of the worst things I've ever had to do, you can just tell from the get go that it hasn't been built to make it easy for you, I'd just pay the little extra and get someone else to do it, minefield of glue, easily breakable clips, easyily scuffed panel and sticky pads and tape, send it away and put your feet up in my opinion.
What you should do is go to an apple store with it, walk around pretending to use it, see if you can get a member of staff to bump into you a bit, drop it and blame them, they probably deserve it.
