Toshiba keypadp sticking
Hi there, hoped someone could share their knowledge.
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop which is about a year old. The 'p' button on the keyboard is acting strangely. It's either locked on so it's typing 'p's nonstop or the button doesn't work at all. I had to cut a 'p' and paste it into this to message!
Don't know much about computers and don't want to get ripped of by a computer repairman.
Is this a common problem with Toshibas? Is there any point in me opening the keyboard in case there's something jammed in there (although it doesn't seem like that's the problem).
Thanks in advance if you can comment.
Cheers
Yogi

Re: Toshiba keypadp sticking
You used 16 'p' thats alot of pasting lol
have you tried giving it a few taps? you probably have some dirt on the pad, try using some compressed air to clear the dirt from the keys.

Is there any food got caught under it. I once had a teacher drop a jam sandwich on the keyboard! I had to remove all the keys clean them and the keyboard then reattach it took me and my colleague over 1.5 hours together to get it all cleaned!

So far this week we have had:
Teacher:my laptop keeps shutting itself down??
Me: Have you tried charging the battery!!
Teacher: Printer's not working
Me: Have you tried putting paper in it!!
Oh and these were the same teacher as well!

We had a member of staff spill lucozade all over their laptop keyboard - that was a long and painful job as they had let it dry - very sticky!
