    New Tape Library time :)

We currently run 2 Tape library systems on our network:

HP Storageworks 2024 Library with LTO4 800/1.6gb Drive
HP Storageworks 1016 Library with 160/320gb SDLT Drive

The latter is now well overdue for renewal.

Will probably be looking at LTO6 with a corresponding Library as our backup needs will be increasing over the next few years. Has anyone on here had any experience with LTO6 devices and any recommendations for a decent Library? Would ideally stick with HP.

    Cheers

HP/DELL both use re-badged IBM Libraries, if you look at them they are almost identical.

We just got a HP 1/8 Tape Library with LTO5 SAS up and running. So far so good, reduced my full backup over several servers down to less than a day with a D2D2T solution. Using backup exec 2012 which is a totally different animal than previous versions.

Just got myself some shiny Overland kit from @Net-Ctrl

    12tb (8.9 usable) DX2 snap server, and a Neo200 LTO5 library (IBM underneath) with 24 slots
