Logitech QuickCam Fusion - Help with installation problem

Hello, I made a mistake when installing my new camera, I plugged it into the USB port before running the installation disk, the camera appeared to install and the sound works fine but my computer does not recognise that there is a camera. I uninstalled and reinstalled before plugging in to the USB port but to no avail - my computer does not recognise there is a camera installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have tried emailing Logitech help desk and I receive a reply saying I will get an answer in 24 hours, it has now been six days and I have tried contacting them 3 times to no avail.

See if there is an updated driver on the logitech website. Make sure that the drivers are completely removed before re-installing.

Thank you, I am certain I have already got the latest update and removed all the drivers but will try again just in case. Cheers.

Sometimes it can help to try plugging it into a different USB port than the one you had problems with.. Been known to work with printers.

Re: Logitech QuickCam Fusion - Help with installation proble

I may have found the problem, there are still some logitech files under program files (even though I have uninstalled the camera) - NEW PROBLEM - my computer will not allow me to delete this file. I get an error message saying 'you need permission to delete this file', this is a personal laptop computer - who do I need permission from? I have tried everything suggested on the Fujitsu Siemens (my computer brand) help files to no avail. Help!

You probably need to be logged in as an administrator.
It may remove better if you do it in safe mode, so just before Windows starts to load you need to press F8. You should then get a menu where you can choose safe mode. Try to login as the administrator. If a password hasn't been set by the person who setup the laptop you should be able to get in OK. If a password was set you will need to find out what it was.
