    RM Classboard Pens

    This is a major long shot... but... does anyone have any RM classboard pens that they don't use any more and would be prepared to give to us?

    I rang rm on friday asking if i could get a quote, they said to send serial numbers of the boards over. Sent the email yesterday about 8.30am. Heard nothing back.

    I rang them today asking if they received the email. They said, ah, there is a problem, the manufacturer has stopped making the boards and the pens.. and there is no stock left as apparently rm has taken it all and sold it.

    I have asked a few suppliers and they said that they cannot get hold of them... Surely there has to be someone out there who has them.... I see that tesco.ie were selling them via the vouchers, 2600 needed to purchase one, so i emailed them too, no reply yet and i dont think ill get one.. but im trying every avenue neccesary.

    I need to get these boards working

    Will ask around at my primary schools tomorrow - I've a feeling there are a couple at one of them which had a couple of defunct boards. I assume none were with the boards at the school? (I remember seeing lots of smartboard pens/erasers, just not the RM pens)
    Also you don't have to use RM ones - bought a 3rd party pen for a similar type of board recently from Amazon for 20 and worked wonders. Will look it up.

    @synaesthesia that would be great if you could post the link on here please.

    Just an update on this.... just had an email back from RM this morning... sounds to me like they still do the pens for the classboards

    Please note that the RM Classboard large pens are no longer available. The only available RM Classboard Pens are the DualPen - Grey or Blue Classboard Pen which has stronger plastic and better battery life.
    Maybe a glimmer of hope???

    Just had 2 emails from RM, the replacement are the "DualPen - Grey or Blue Classboard Pe"n which apparently "has stronger plastic and better battery life." They work out about 28.00 each.

    @newpersn and @synaesthesia

    I have bought a new dualpen and it arrived today. The cost was 28 plus 4.50 delivery.

    The only problem is, it's very intermittant. Could be the wireless though.... hmmmmm or could be the crappy battery however the battery is a AAAA. yes thats AAAA.

    Sorry I didn't get back to you. Got a call yesterday to say the Big O are coming! (Today and tomorrow) so it's been unnecessarily hectic. Haven't been able to find those pens. I do have a stock of AAAA batteries though! (Bought some for our other ILS whiteboards). I wonder therefore if the same universal pen - got them from Interactive Whiteboards, Response System, Projector, Voting System, ICT Solutions
    Might be worth a look also.
