Ok, thanks for posting some info (such as it is). I have permission to attend, but on condition that I'm on call during the day - will there be a reliable connection available for general use?

I can't find the flyer on the front page? Can someone help out with a link?

    Thanks

    I hope so!

Free wifi is available and if that isn't sufficient I'm sure that someone will have a 3G modem you can borrow.

No I'm with you on that one, if you just visit the front page article it doesn't show up until you click "originally posted in the thread..." or whatever it's called. Had me foxed for a bit

They are on a spreadsheet. On my computer (actually on the NAS). In my office. And will be deleted after the conf. We are not information gathering. This is simply so we know whose coming and from where.

Oh, and we have 20 places left, so if you want to come we are almost full so please get your registrations in.

    *registers*

Incidentally, is there a registered data controller? I don't find anything on the public register.

It's me. There is only me, and my guess is that unless you are a company who regularly gathers data such as this (which we don't) then I don't need to be.
Ah, nope, we don't have to register:

to notify the Information Commissioner you are processing information, unless you are an organisation who has personal information only for:

    * staff administration (including payroll);
    * advertising, marketing and public relations for your own business; or
    * accounts and records (some not-for-profit organisations)

I don't know if I'm too late to register. I tried yesterday at the email address given but haven't so far received a reply. I can appreciate the admins will have a pile of work to get through for this and upcoming conferences, but I need to get a leave of absence form signed before the end of the week.

We never got replies, but appeared on the list to go; so I guess they received it.

I must admit though, an auto-response would have been useful as confirmation that the message was at least delivered successfully.

Dos_Box: Did you get the email from our other techie, Tallan, saying he could no longer make it?

Yes, I've removed him. We (I) am very, very busy ATM hence not much time to reply to registration emails. Sorry everyone.

Thanks Chris - I'll put his mind at rest I'm sure we all understand how busy you are at EG HQ and appreciate all the work going on that we don't see.
