I think people forget this very fact. Everything you post can be interpreted by a kill joy suit in an ivory tower were a sense of humour is considered a personality defect.

You write something, even in jest, someone somewhere will take it literally and that folks could loose you your job.

Absolutely. I'm afraid more than one edugeek has come a cropper when their identity has been recognised and an employer has taken umbrage at what has been posted.

People really should apply the same rules for posting on every website (not just edugeek) to those that they self-impose when having a gossip at school. You never can be sure who is watching or listening, so if in doubt don't say it!

Hi Chris has had to go home (family member got ill) so might be calling you tomorrow.

    Sorry about that.

As for roles of mods and admins..

    Mods:

The edit/move and try and keep the forum running. Then every so often we ask them to do other things as stuff arises.

As for Admins between us we run the org.

Chris is edu-god and his word is final. He deals with Advertising and making the money decisions.
Shaun does all the web stuff.
Myself my role is marketing and PR
Ric really is our events guy and our catch all guy (I am sure he will not mind being called that). So Ric as well as running our BETT presence he puts he hand to most of above roles. He often takes on forums for the admins so when things need admin to step in Ric will often do it.

Then we all handle various 'relationships' with various suppliers (mainly were we already have high level contacts etc). So for example Chris deals with IDG, Ric deals with Navaho and I deal with RM (you get the idea).

Hopefully that makes some kind of sense.

I get it. Why can't anyone else?

The General Chat is for just that and not technical chat so I don't see problem with anything that has been posted there.

No need to be like that about it, as you can see alot is going on at the moment and a bit of patience is required. just chill out and making statements like that 1) are not going to help if in the future there is an option and you do want to and 2) makes your company look silly in public due to the way the comment reads. just take a breather danielle.. chill out and make a coffee and me too please

What's wrong with what she said? She's just pointing out that she doesn't want to talk to Chris on the phone which is fair enough. On the other hand, I do. He's robbed my stamps!
