Right, its not often I get bossy on EduGeek as I am quite happy lurking in the shadows puling strings, but I have a commandment that I want to be carried out.
On the 2nd Dec I want all of us 'Geekers' to gather together in regional gatherings and drink beer and eat heatily in a Christmas type of get together. I am going to organise the one for the North West (of England), and I would like to see Midlands, NE, Scotland (different areas proberbly), Wales, SE, SW etc. Anyway Here goes, the North West Christmas get together will be held on Saturday 2nd December at Preston. We shall meet at around 3 - 4 pm at a vfenue TBC and then at around 7pm locate ourselves in a curry house of splendid fare. We should be finished by 9 -10pm, and this will allow people to get home by train. Preston can be reached directly from Liverpool, Manchester, Lancaster, Burnley (e.Lancs) and even Leeds, and return fares to these are all below £10.
Please post here if you are interested in either attending or organising your regional bash. I eagely await your replies and suggestions.

How about meeting at Greyfriars. It's central to all the interesting drinking holes in Preston. Plus it's fairly near the bus station and the railway station (10mins from each).

Town centre, opposite Greyfriars. 2 mins from the station. An ideal spot.

Anything that they don't tell you what its made of. Did you know beer is one of the few things exempt from showing its ingrediants on the label? Trust me, UK mass produced beer is almost as bad as Sunny Delight, and only a couple of chemicals removed.
