Hi guys and girls sorry for downtime on Sunday seems like EduGeek.net's hosting company lost all its internet connections and all there sites including their own went off internet.
Anyway we are sorry about you missing your daily dose of EduGeek.net and can understand we had no control over the outage. We will be asking fasthost why the supposed redundancy connections didn't kick it etc.
Once again sorry for downtime but we are back.
Regards
EduGeek Team

Yup, I'd like to know that too!Originally Posted by russdev

Outlook works really badly when half of the e-mail accounts on it aren't working!
I bet they spin you a line like I got from my hosting company who had a 4hr outage in the week:
"the primary fiber was cut by accident, and for some reason the secondary fiber didn't kick in as it was too close to the primary fiber"
Yeah, I believed that too... not.

So how much of a rebate are you getting from them breaking the SLA (more than 0.1% downtime)?![]()

doubt get any as there 99.9% uptime thign only applies i suspect to dedicated servers which we do not have we hsot edugeek on co-shared server.
But we will ask i am sure to see if can get somethign back of them

I see Fasthosts was down because of the damaged caused to the Telewest Fibre on Sunday.
The article makes me laugh though, it says that Telewest customers were left unable to watch the England match on Sunday. Surely the majority of people could just switch back over to the terrestrial signal coming through their aerial?
Depends, the tv that has ntl in our house, can't be used to connect to terrestrial aswell as digital, we use the arial to send the signal around all the tvs in the house, so if some people only have the 1 tv, they're a bit screwed, could of hopped down the pub though....
Chris
Your right the majority could do exactly that. But having been a Telewest customer in Bradford there is no way that you could have got an ordinary terrestrial signal - the analogue reception was terrible.Originally Posted by indie
