First up thanks @DB for answering my post directly, when in reality there is no reason for him or the admin team to justify any decision they make on how the site is run.

On reflection perhaps my post came off more critical than I intended or actually meant. It was my first reaction to be surprised and offered an opinion in the spirit of debate rather than criticism. Upon reading other posts here I have changed my opinion somewhat and thats what good debate is about right?

You are all going to say that I am biased (being an admin and all) but I agev teh Outlet a chance... I needed a random laptop for the guy here that does the publicity materials. He was adament that he wanted a widescreen. I usually buy Thinkpads and they don't offer any widescreen models at the moment so I took the chance.

The alptop came last week, it was good money and I was very impressed with the build quality. The screen in particular was amazing (17" WXGA+). Even the RAM upgrade was decent money.

I would definitely consider using Acer Outlet again.

I think it is also worth mentioning something that Dos_Box hasn't.... the EduGeek Outlet is a new idea that we are trialing with Acer products at the moment. If the collaboration works well (something we won't know for a few months), we would like to try teaming up with others to offer products to all you Mac fanboys, etc.

  8. 2 Thanks to Ric_:

Ah now that is good, a choice of products would be excellent.

Don't forget Acer Outlet also has a sister Company Apple Outlet, which offers the full Apple range.

Please don't ask me about Apple products don't know much! but I can forward any questions to the Apple Outlet team.

Probably the lack of sleep from worrying about all our members' technical problems (or maybe just the kdis keeping you up!).
