    April 1st Competition

    Good morning one and all.

Due to some prizes being unclaimed from BETT we have a quickie competition.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to come up with the best example of an April 1st either in a school or done by a technology company.

Should people post the same article then the first poster counts it as their entry. A limit of 3 entries per person and don't just stick the first couple you find from Google ... they are quite naff! Bonus kudos given to you if you are actually involved with it.

The 2 winners will be decided by Mr DB and myself this evening with the results posted tomorrow.

    Go and have fun.

How about the one on a number of news sites saying that Heathrow's new multi-million pound all-singing-all-dancing Terminal 5 is rubbish. Oh no, wait a moment....

I have put a fake cctv feed on our intranet that shows a "live" scrolling image from a non-existent camera!

    true

Many years ago my Sytems Manager asked staff to help clean the network.

He asked them to unplug their network cable and blow down it.

He then asked everyone who had done it to email him as they would be entitled to something free.

    42 email replies.

Mind you when we introduced windows and a mouse, we did get somebody complain that the mouse was too small and they were scared that it was not strong enough when using it with their feet. Strange but true

This seems to be a pretty interesting article.

Considering they were actually going to follow standards in IE8, now they have said no! Bloody Microsoft! :P
