hi
we are supposed to be trying to implement FITS here but to be honest our LEA trafford havent even bothered to inform the headteachers of the scheme so we dont get much backing of them trying to implement it.
and to be honest its just a pen pushing pile of dung!!!!! some of the things are ok you know get a helpdesk up and running try and stop staff asking you on the corridor etc but everyone works different and has there own ideas on how support should work etc.

Are their any members from Sheffield or Coventry here that would be willing to let Russ know about their experiences?

I would not bother mentioning it to my NM and ICT coordinator. My advice or opinion is never appreciated and ignored. But its something i have looked ot for a wee while and I would implement it.

I have filled in the first part and have got feedback from that but honestly speaking i havn't had the time recently.
I will be spending more time on this as my role within the school is changing to that of SLICT (strategic leader of ICT) which will be totally new to me but i like a challenge and Webman will then move into my role as NM.

Tried to implement it at my old school and came up against so much apathy that I gave up as it wasn't worth the hassle.

I can't remember when I looked at this originally [a long time ago: months and months] It went nowhere. Now abandoned.

Why Coventry specifically?

Because Coventry and Sheffield both had projects to deliver and develop FITS in schools ... I was hoping to prod a few members involved in that to respond.
As Russ has said ... anywhere in the UK.

Tend to disagree a little bit - trafford were actually quite good and pushed this (certainly in our school) did you not attend all the workshops? They were quite eye-opening 8O It was received very well by SMT here and had no problems convincing them afterall it's just best practice.
