HA HA HA HA HA LOL PMSL..... which one buddy.
Hey - not fair comment that. We had a superb real bikey chap here in Devizes who took over the local bike shop and gave first class service and value but unfortunately although all the proper cyclists supported him he just couldn't compete with Halfords and the online retailers.
Sadly his business eventually folded and he now works in the local Halfords where his customers get first class service and advice.
Some people I heard of invested in Halfords at 1am. They drove there cars in, had a over hall and came back out again.
Their car looked something like this after...
We call that the "covered the car in superglue and ram-raided halfords" look.
Halfords actually sell some really nice bikes (Boardman, Voodoo, etc). Even some of their own brand mid-range models for £200-300 are quite good for the money. The problem is that some of the bikes they sell in the £50-150 range are truly shocking!
Plus their customer service and bike mechanices can vary wildly from store to store so you never know how well put together you cycle is or whether the staff are knowledgeable.
They also refuse to let you take the bikes out on test rides so for that reason alone I'd steer clear of them and buy elsewhere to be honest.
