The ICT Co-ordinator in our primary school has asked me to arrange for a trial of some iPads for them like I did with Google Chromebooks.
Problem is, who to ask for this? I have no idea where to even start. Only way I got the Chromebooks was that I just happened to see a presentation by a company that works with Google and offered this.
Your local independent Apple Reseller? Ours offered us a trial of some kits before.
Presume @Millgate can't offer or do this ?
In the post this morning I received some literature about a pilot scheme that might fit your enquiry.

Our school is also intrested in a trial of ipads aswell if anyone has any information can you also let me know please.
This company recently presented a useful seminar in London attended by myself and @GrumbleDook so may be worth a call:
Apple Premium Reseller | iPad | MacBook | Apple repairs | Mac support
@localzuk has replied and has pointed out that the information that I supplied is a 1:1 pilot scheme [not one where the iPads are shared]
There are a couple of ASEs and AASPs who will work with schools on pilot schemes and it is worth ringing round to have a chat with those local to you.
The ASEs and AASPs I know our schools usually deal with are out of you area but that can put you in touch with someone more local (they generally are pretty helpful like that) so it is worth contacting KRCS, Solutions Inc, Toucan or Square Group.
It might also be worth you contacting your local Apple Regional Training Centre as well.
If others are looking to find where there nearest RTC is use Apple (United Kingdom) - Education - Regional Training Centres
In this case it is ...
Bristol Secondary RTC
Contact: Ross Hamilton
Hmm ... that name looks familiar ;-)
I wonder if @Rozzer would care to comment?
Hello lol :)
Tony Feel free to give me a call tomorrow. I can go over our trial with iPads and why we decided iPads etc.
I'm unsure on this one. I dont think any reseller will be able to offer you a trial of iPads. Apple aren't that kind.
Generally you can get less well known tablets on trial because they are keen to sell them to you but Apple know that they don't need to. Kind of arrogant really
There are several Apple ASEs / AASPs who have iPad trials or are working on them at the moment. Part of it is linked with their relationships with Apple RTCs and some of it is to do with their support of some ADEs IIRC. There is a lot of politics that go with it (and some of the ASEs who are members will attest ... just not publicly ;) !!) but it can happen.

Well, in the end this has been stopped, as they hadn't actually put it on their proposal for the next year so there is no budget until next year now. I'll revisit it then.
