Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
unplug the hard drives, infact unplug EVERYTHING except the mobo, cpu, RAM, (gfrx card if not onboard) and vdu cable and then see what happens
and of course the PSU/power cable if you are being funny.
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
Yeah i have already done that :s with no luck.....
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
I'll be honest FoxConn are cheap for a reason, they're 5h1te and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Try it without RAM and see if it'll at least get you to the "U HAZ NO RAM LIKE INNIT" message.
Does yours have the diagnostic panel? either a small light array giving numbers or a bank of LEDs ?
If so, then compare what that is saying against the manual's diag page.
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
Oh Deary Deary Me...Took the RAM out and it just beeped (screamed) at me and put it back in and still nothing....
Think its "messed up" lol
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
Foxconn only just started making their own motherboards, but if you have a dell or apple pc, you will find that they designed the motherboard. They are also the OEM for iPods, Xbox 360s, Wii's, PS2s and the PS3.
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
All of which have reliability problems.
btw they also make the PCBs for several HDDs
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
What model is the mainboard, also what CPU and Ram are you using?
Don't suppose you have a post probe
It is true that Foxconn arent the best as they are still finding thier feet designing boards themselves, they do have a deffinate cost advantage as they also manufacture alot of the actual components that go on boards and their main business is contract manufacturing for tier one brands.
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
have you tried resetting the cmos?
Re: Foxconn Motherboard Help
I have had a foxconn board which would not boot if it had 2 sticks of ram in. took one stick out and it worked fine.

If you don't know what the RAM is can you be sure it's the right stuff?
If it's not compatible, that might be why the machine doesn't work.
Also, have you checked there are no jumpers to set the CPU type - a FoxConn board I used was almost jumperless, except for one which needed to be set for particular models of CPU.
