I'm on there as well. Feel free to add me. I've not used it much in the past but i'll be on it this year :)
Myself, Joe and Mark are......
Of course, I can't connect to any of you since I don't know your email addresses, unless I add you as friends. I guess LinkedIn isn't quite geared up to people who "know" each other through forums, which is odd...
I have a profile set up and filled in. Cant say I really "get" it though.
There is an EduGeek group which you can find and then connect to fellow group members, and once you are connected to a few then the suggestions will do the rest. Don't connect to EG as a company though ... that is one of the annoying things about LinkedIn, that the group v company stuff is still not 100%.
I'm waiting to be accepted :(
I'm on there, need to update it a bit though.
Know the feeling @localzuk - I had created it ages ago but did naff all with it until the events of last summer.. And its been heavily looked at since by recruiters and alike
Definately worth keeping up to date and promoting...
I also use it for groups and discussions ... I find folk on there who I wouldn't find on other networks / forums ... but I also use it to help others connect to one another. I have a lot of connections, not to say I am well connected but because it gives a better chance for others to find like-minded people. If I invite anyone in I tend to recommend that that they have a trawl through my connections to see if there is anyone there who they find grabs their attention. I am always happy to pass on a request to connect for others (some people can be picky who they connect with) ... but I would strongly recommend that each time you connect with someone have a look through their connections.
