Prepare yourself for odd things flapping/squeaking/wobbling around your house.

My old cat brought home a Mallard duck once. No idea how he got it through the cat flap, but it somehow had survived that ordeal but had a giant hole in its head so my dad put it out of its misery.

Also, expect small dead things in shoes.

I hate cats, dogs are much better.

Tips for raising kittens

Buy a "house" for them which has a scratch post, several "floors" and a toy dangling from it
Play with them for at least an hour during the day
Keep them in for the first 2 months so they can build a mental map of the outside by looking out of the windows, then if you want to let them out, do it in your garden first and watch them play
Clean the litter tray 20 minutes after they have been for a number 2, reason why is that they wont visit it again whilst it still has said items deposited there
Feed them more dry food than wet food and the whiskers cat milk is a god send
At mine we have a wet food bowl, dry food bowl, water bowl and a milk bowl - having the option for them makes them a bit more appreciative of you!
If you have children, get the children to play with the kitten so the kitten gets used to children and doesn't become a scatty adult around children.
Get the jabs as soon as you can (also the flee jab is a good one, just in case as you can inadvertedly bring flees home)
Pet insurance is a must!

None of the small dead things my cats deposit at the door wear shoes, you must come from a posh area.. :lol:

it's amazing how adept you become at rounding up mice and birds that are left in the house.
it's also scary how you can be fast asleep, hear one scratch and think "he's brought something in" and be right.

Awww! He's just a baby, he'll need to sleep with you for a while!

Dexter! What a great name and rag dolls are gorgeous....i've wanted a kitty recently....

Ragdolls are floppy, hence the name. Are you keeping him as a house cat?
