The £12m Question: How WikiLeaks Gags Its Own Staff
Link: New Statesman - The £12m question: how WikiLeaks gags its own staff
I can see the logic of this as far as WikiLeaks is concerned [sort of] but it seems bizarre that an organisation that claims to campaign for openness can consider a move like this.
Quote:
WikiLeaks is a non-profit media organization dedicated to bringing important news and information to the public. We provide an innovative, secure and anonymous way for independent sources around the world to leak information to our journalists. We publish material of ethical, political and historical significance while keeping the identity of our sources anonymous, thus providing a universal way for the revealing of suppressed and censored injustices.
It is also a little contradictory [in my view at least] to say that WikiLeaks is a 'non-profit media organization' and then to consider auctioning early access to information held by WikiLeaks.
