I am the proud owner of an HTC Desire and I love it except that I cannot work out how or if I can use one of my 'ringtones' for the text message notification. I managed to import my special ringtones for various people and have set those up appropriately, but they don't appear in the list of message tones - can anyone help?
How can I have a phone that doesnt alert me to messages by sounding the Star Trek communicator?

Great thread as I too got a desire yesterday. First q, if I am connected to wifi, when downloading apps does it use this by default or do I have to change it somewhere.
If it is using the wifi then the wifi icon appears, AFAIK
If you've a wifi connection then all traffic flows through that by default - no need to change anything elsewhereQuote:

Do they let people use http proxies with the HTC desire yet?
