A decent VM management system built on the idea of mirrored storage rather than a central SAN device. Would also provide drop-in server-based applications - click a button and the system would assign a VM some resources, download some code and instansiate a VM for you. A Samba-based print management system. PyKota on top of Samba is pretty much there already, but with a bit of tinkering could be set up as a snazzy pull-printing system perfect for schools. If you do all printing via GhostScript then you can integrate it with VLEs like Moodle, offering "printing "straight to a teacher's homework-marking folder with no actual paper used. Add a handy teacher marking utility for tablets and you've got a package you can sell in to schools - free software, paid-for support and hardware.
