Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
This only directly applies to people working in schools, on the hampshire pay system.
As you will know, the 'Pay and Benefits project' has now finally pushed out our new role profiles, and our relevent salaries that go with them.
I'm enquiring to find out what 'role profile' you have been assigned, and what your real-world, job is...
My purpose here is to provide evidence and support for my own case, as i have been labeled as 'Technician', Which i beleive is wrong, and should be changed to the 'ICT technician' as this accurately reflects my role.
I would also be interested in the scale you are due to receive for that role.
If anyone can help me, i'd appreciate it!
Many Thanks,
Stese
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Here in Portsmouth, I have been labelled as ICT Technician, Disease on these forums has been labelled as Network Manager. Both are pretty much what we are actually doing. Though Disease is trying to get them to label me as Assistant Network Manager as he thinks it more accurately reflects what I do on a day to day basis.
As for salaries, we havent been informed what they are in relation to these titles. We have been told by our line manager that they havent released the salary scales yet ?
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
You should have had a letter.... as you are portsmouth, it might be a little different....
Stick yourself on the hants network, and goto
http://hantsnet2000.hants.gov.uk/TC/...r-schools.html
This will list all the available role profiles... althought I can't see a assistant network manager.
Do you know what grade letters you have been assigned?
I'll try and find the document here with the grades and salaries on.
Thanks Jake
P.S At last check, skype works thru hants... i'm on it if need be
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Nope, havent been given any grade letters or anything, all we have so far is a job role sheet, consisting of the roles. Interestingly, we dont have Technician on our list. Shows, IT Assistant, IT Technician, Assistant Network Manager and Network Manager on ours.
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Did you look @ the link?
is your LEA Hampshire or Portsmouth?
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Ahh. That would probably account for the difference in timescale and roles....
You guys aren't hiring are you :P
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Must be a different structure then between Hants EA and Portsmouth. Stupid really, I would have thought Hants Lea would have governance over Portsmouth LEA
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
You would think that...
Surely there are other edugeekers under hampshire LEA?
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
I am in a foundation status school & have not been informed of any of this.
The wife works in a smaller school (not ICT) & is getting stuffed after working for county for 22 years.
From what I have read this should be affecting foundation status schools as well, does anyone know any different. If this is the case I will have to ask those at the top why we haven't been informed. (I can hazard a guess though)
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
HCC decided initally to run this through its maintained schools - foundation schools come next. In a maintained school, the LA is the employeer and therefore the equal pay aspects are the LA's responsibility.
In a foundation school, the governing body is the employeer and therefore the equal pay responsiblity falls to them. I imagine it would be easier to make a case to the governing body instead of County.

Stese - do you know if the "middle of February" trade union ballot happened?
As far as i can see, there are three grades "ICT Network Manager", "ICT Assistant" and "ICT Technican" - but no salary grades for each post have seemed to have been published yet.

Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Thanks Kyle, I just know how bad they are around here for not telling us stuff.
They may let us know when it happens though. You never know, my pay may increase. It is pretty bad at the moment & I could do with an assistant (some hopes).
Re: Hampshire Pay-And-Benefits 'project'
Just a point of info:
Portsmouth is a Unitary Authority which means that it has its 'own' LEA and does not have anything to do with Hampshire LEA
We have the same situation here: Poole is a Unitary Authority and its changes to job titles, salaries etc have been very different to Dorset LEA, although Poole is nominally in Dorset.
