Maybe you could have an Email Holiday
:D
Why rely on RM when you have gmail for education and live@edu these days?
I think the world goes crazy if they are down for a couple of minutes let alone a couple of days.
Basically they are fixed very very fast :)
Our easymail goes down during almost every spell of bad weather due to a cable breaking that goes over a large hill out in the wilds somewhere - they never seem to think "oh, what can we do about this?"
Having said that though - it is fixed pretty quickly in almost all cases
That was posted last night... 5 days its been out. (and back and out again)Quote:

What on Earth takes 5 days to fix? If its a server issue, they should have at least 4 hour onsite repair warranty with something as important as email servers, they should have backups, and a simple 'reinstall' procedure. Its a day's work tops!
5 days is crazy! I'd be lynched here if anything I ran was down for that long!
5 Days is completely unacceptable - what does the SLA say about the Availability of such services?
Hmm - We get one from Our LEA with which describes all the services provided by them and also the cost of such services etc - I hadn't seen it until I asked our Finance Department for it when i was looking at if it would be cheaper to bring services in house.
The 11:30am update
I can't get to the admin system, so I can't even redirect the affected mailboxes. The most important one affected here is that of our registrar... this could potentially cost us fees if we lose a pupil due to failure to respond. She's been busy on the phone today.Quote:

The teacher concerned was trying to access it on her HOME machine anyway :)
We have some accounts that are working fine, some that aren't working at all and some (mine for example) that are working intermittently. That said, I've received no email on my account this morning, even though I can access the mailbox, so I don't think it's working properly for me.
The sooner I can move us over to Live@edu the better.
same here - some accounts working fine, others not, coming up with the server cannot be reached message. A few weeks ago, this happened to only one user at our school and it took over a week to recover her mailbox as it suffered massive corruption.

(Current Issue) 07 Feb 2011 - 11:30
Brief Description:
RM EasyMail Plus
Issue:
We have worked round the clock on the current issues, and made significant progress. All mailboxes are currently available.
However, there are still issues that we need to resolve. To complete this work it's possible that there will be further disruption today. While we complete this work the EasyMail Administration site will remain unavailable.
Please bear in mind, email sent since Friday may take some time to arrive in your mailbox.
Once again, we'd like to apologise for the inconvenience that this is causing you.
