Bisley IS a female - age 39 - it's there in the thread somewhere.
now now... it's a little homophobic to think that Bisley cannot be male (they may have been married in some dodgy US state).
As far as I can see, ICT Coordinators and ICT Teachers teach pupils how to use the software on the machine (at least until year 11) IT technicians maintain the machines and the network so that the teachers can do their jobs.
Some ICT Coordinators know loads about networking, and that's good (sometimes), some just know how to use a machine, and that's the important thing for teachers.
Perhaps teachers should be IT and we should be ICT.

But there is a two tier system in schools. Never ever forget that.
It is just a shame that teachers think that they are the superior beings ... whereas we truly know that Support Staff are the highest forms of life.

We also have an ICT committee which meets once a term to judge any complaints/denied requests. This is really for those teachers like bisley98, as they suffer from excessive embarrassment when I shoot them down in front of their peers.
This took a long time to implement, due largely to a few knobs on the teaching staff, but fortunately the headteacher chose a working network over a particular problem individual who was convinced that maturbating monthly over PC Pro qualified him to run networks(bisley98 do you have a long lost brother?).

I'm going to post a thread for Bisley, asking her technical questions, I think we should all do the same.
My 1st (start her off easy) "How do I ban the internet from 1 room", and lets work up to some of the harder threads found on this forum!!!
I might ask her how to configure RSTP, QoS, a few trunks and GVRP on my new fancy managed switches, and for a few sample config files for nagios...
