How much to "charge" for printer installation?
We're due to become a fully managed service in 2012, and I've been looking at ways to prepare staff for the change. One of our faculties recently agreed to consult the IT techs before buying a printer, but in the end they simply went ahead and bought one which we wouldn't have recommended. As with a fully managed service, there is a catalogue of hardware from which the MSP would like us to buy, and which they would support. I've explained this to the head of this particular faculty and said that as this is "non catalogue" i.e., we weren't consulted, there would be a nominal charge of £125 for installing it. Do you think that's about right?
