I'm off all week long so gonna spend some time with my little girl.
A week in Wales and Scotland in glorious sunshine with lots of beer, golf and sitting by the pool :-)
Rebuilding many many RM machines.
Having server downtime to clean the dust in our server room.
Drawing up plans for a new ICT suite.
But whilst I'm away we're having air conditioning fitted in our Office :-)
Can't come in for half the week - we've got some asbestos related thing going on.
After that, i'll be fixing a few network cables, getting ready for Softlink Oliver v4, virtualising our terminal servers and increasing their number to utilise the unused memory in the boxes, and some general maintenance such as reimaging 2 suites of machines etc...
2 days should be enough for that shouldn't it? :p
Spending tomorrow at the London Expo, Sunday and Monday in Canterbury, in work on Wednesday to upgrade my PC to Windows 7.
Other than that, just relaxing in the (hopefully) nice weather and getting some reading/gaming done :)
Well I've got most of the week off and I'll be at the EG conference for part of it. Planning on tidying up the office on Friday (only day I'm in) as we've got a 3rd person starting and nowhere for them to go at the moment!
Off up to Manchester tonight to visit family, then going trekking & camping over the forest of Bowland tomorrow & Sunday, back down to Wolverhampton Monday to see Joe Bonamassa in Birmingham Monday night, by Tuesday Red Dead Redemption should have been delivered so I'll spend the rest of the time playing that in between getting my bike fixed ready to start cycling in to work... Busy busy busy! But all in good ways :)
I'll be atternding a small conference in Preston on Wednesday. The rest of the week will be spent either cracking on through some of the nigglign jobs on the helpdesk that could have waiting for these holidays or working on my CSBM (Certificate of School Business Management) project.
Monday - probably getting plastered
Tuesday - Rekitting a room and sorting backup tapes out
Wednesday - small matter of a conference in Preston with Sylv3r
Thursday - Configuring PaperCut with the Finance Officer, ensure all PCs have correct updates
Friday - sit down with feet up and a brew.. (yeah right!)
A relatively quiet week here, I plan to:
- Finishing the replacement of our locally installed instances of McAfee AV with a nicely managed Sophos system (mainly the laptops left, groan)
- Taking FULL advantage of having the sites to ourselves to crack as many helpdesk tasks as humanly possible
- Supervising the sparks installing a new power feed to our axillary comms room
Im kinda hoping our Multi Touch "UTouch" ALL in 1 Demo unit arrives so we can have a play. The original fell over in the lorry braking the screen! I Was also hoping to have more of an idea of what was happening over the summer holidays by now, but there seems to be a small hold up with our IT Contract for the new campus. anyone fancy planning for a xmas move of a school?
