Cleaning IWB's or how to be careful
We had a Promethean ProActiv board put in last year and the painter got some dots of paint on it now this board has never been used as an interactive one just a projection surface so this year we've moved into another classroom where it will get used.
As part of the cleaning supplies I've just received there were some graffiti wipes so I thought I'd try them out on the board.
The surface of the board cleans up lovely with them but it also disolves the printing on them so the promethean and proactiv branding came off.
The plastic surround didn't fare so well and went sticky as I presume the solvents in the cleaner have melted the plastic slightly.

Ben
Did the painters paint the whole board or were you doing a thorough job of cleaning it?
Just out of interest what was the make of grafitti wipes so we can add it to our knowledgbase of things not to use to clean the board.

You sure it was not a ACID wipe..............................? LOL
Re: Cleaning IWB's or how to be careful
Hi Dan,
There were just a few splashes on it but as I was wiping the corner where the ProActiv labelling is some came off so I thought I might as well remove it all.
I'll check tomorrow what make they are.
They don't affect the surface bar removing the logo's but like I said did affect the plastic surround.
Oh and they also melted my gloves :)
